Nuclear Renaissance? or can Greenpeace save the day?

: Nuclear Renaissance? Or can Greenpeace save the day?
Well there you have it, last Thursday a government that some 5 years ago thought Nuclear power was unattractive, gave the green light to unlimited nuclear power stations in Britain so they can keep up with climate change goals and reduce over dependence on fuel imports and according to the PM be "more secure in energy supply" ....

Greenpeace have saved the day before, can they do it again this time? Rest assured the battle will be in the courts. If governments think that because we are concerned about Climate change we will accept a "solution" that creates far more social and potential environmental issues than Climate change itself, they can think again. There are technologies being developed that can give the world Nuclear type yields AND not have the potential side effects.

I am by no means a "greenie" I just want a sensible solution to the Climate Change problem and don't want governments to take the easy way out and go nuclear. surely the planet is worth investing some time and effort into developing the new solutions out there rather than making big corporations bigger by allowing them to build nuclear plants whenever and wherever they feel like it; and to add insult to the injury do it all in the name of Climate Change. Surely they don't think we will fall for that .........we won't fall for it, will we?

Greenpeace, can they save the day?

I agree Louie (and am probably a slight shade of greenish) ... however... I think this one will fall to signatures here in Oz, as evidence to petition the government... if not a referendum?

Anyone's guess, when labor shifts its weight to pro-nuclear
