Going back to college just got better for the Earth. Students have the chance to charge their laptops without ever plugging in the computer to an electrical outlet.
Many colleges do not let freshman brings cars on campus which is the reason why the Earth is happy. There are backpack laptop chargers that pull in energy from the sun and charge the laptop. In the time it takes for the student to move from one class to another, a bit of a charge is stored to the computer battery.
While it normally takes about 3 hours out in the sun to completely charge the battery, the charger does not care if the sun is coming in through the window or with direct light.
